Child Rights Alliance (CRA) member ChildLinK held a round table discussion at the Tagore Memorial High School at No. 63 Village, Corentyne Coast. The round table discussion was supported by representatives from the No. 63 Village Regional Democratic Council, Schools Welfare Department (Region 6), FACT, National Library Corriverton branch as well as teachers and students from Tagore Memorial High.
The participants were sensitized about the Child Rights Alliance (CRA) and the Child Neglect in Guyana report. Several issues were raised including several cases of educational neglect, physical neglect and child sexual abuse. The RDC representatives and the Schools Welfare representative expressed their willingness to support subsequent CRA activities in the Region. Plans were made to continue the collaboration to organize training and advocacy activities in 2018.
