The Police in collaboration with the Child Rights Alliance (CRA) gave a presentation to the students at Belladrum Secondary.
Superintendent Wayne De Hearte of New Amsterdam Police Sation spoke with the male students about substance abuse and bullying. Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior manifested by the use of force to affect others, particularly when the behavior is habitual and involves an imbalance of power. It can include verbal aggression, physical assault or coercion.
Inspector Kelly of Weldaad Police Station spoke with the the female students about topics they should be made aware of like sexual abuse, substance abuse and self-care.
The CRA is a collaboration of civil society organizations, government agencies, the community and all stakeholders to protect at least 6,000 children from abuse. ChildLinK and the Rights of the Child Commission will be the leading organizations in this alliance.
