Representatives from The Orchid Foundation and ChildLinK conducted a community tour at ‘Skull City’, Region Three on Friday May 19, 2017. Community tours are one of the activities under the Child Rights Alliance (CRA). The CRA partners engaged the members of the community in discussions about the Child Rights Alliance and its objectives. The community members were also invited to parenting skills sessions which will start shortly.
Skull City residents expressed their willingness to be a part of the parenting sessions. Several parents shared their struggles as parents and are happy to receive help.
The objective of the Child Rights Alliance is to protect at least 6,000 children from abuse and violence. ChildLinK will train Community Based Organizations such as The Orchid Foundation to conduct sensitization sessions on the rights and responsibilities, as well as child abuse preventative methods. The Orchid Foundation will sensitize 2,000 children and provide child care counselling to 200 children in Region Three.
