Child Rights Alliance (CRA) partner, Family Awareness Consciousness and Togetherness (FACT) engaged residents at Lovely Lass in a community tour on August 8, 2017. The objective of the community tour was to invite parents to parenting skills training sessions which will be facilitated by FACT representatives.
The parenting skills education sessions are one of the project activities under the CRA, designed to protect children from violence and abuse. CRA partners were trained by ChildLinK’s parenting skills officer, Beverley Bunbury, to conduct parenting skills sessions. The parenting skills sessions will cover a number of topics ranging from early childhood experiences to domestic violence. These interactive sessions were designed to teach parents skills and techniques to improve their relationship with their children which will in turn reduce incidents of violence and abuse in the home.
