Child Rights Alliance (CRA) partner Heavenly Light World Outreach Fellowship and representatives from ChildLinK conducted a community tour in Charlestown, Gerogetown on 18th July, 2017. The aim of the CRA is to protect children from violence and abuse.
The CRA partners will be engaging residents in several communities in Regions Three, Four and Five during the months of July and August 2017. During the community tours, CRA partners will sensitize residents about the services offered through the CRA: sensitization sessions, child care counselling and parenting skills education.
Heavenly Light has an active parenting skills education group that has had tremendous impact on parents. These sessions will be ongoing throughout the life of the Child Rights Alliance. The purpose of the parenting sessions is to introduce the parenting to effective parenting methods and approaches. This will help to improve the relationship between parent and child and by extension, reduce incidents of child abuse.
